With account data breaches occurring at companies, a password alone isn't enough to protect our accountsTwo-Factor Authentication has been introduced in more services, but it isn't perfect.  In this presentation, I explain the importance of Two-Factor Authentication and attacks against different forms of Two-Factor Authentication.  I will also be debuting my proof-of-concept Man-in-the-Middle attack on FIDO Universal Second Factor (U2F) USB hardware authentication.
Roger Southwick has been a software engineer at IBM for 30 years and an electronics hobbyist since the late 1970sHe assembled a Rostock Max 3D printer and will share experiences from 2 years of experimentation in a brief presentation including a printer demonstration, display of some interesting print samples, and time for discussion.

Kyle Gilbertson (IBM LEGO Education Outreach core team member and a prolific volunteer for other efforts as well) has agreed to be a speaker at an upcoming K-LUG meeting. As part of Kyle's volunteering both for ILEO and for other LEGO related STEM outreach he has had the occasion to want to produce instructions for constructing a LEGO model. This is actually difficult to do and have it look like you would expect LEGO instructions to look. Kyle was able to chain several different open source tools together to produce a quality set of instructions. He has volunteered to share the lessons he learned during this process with us.

Speaker needed, please let Tina know if you're willing to volunteer.  Willing to present but want to know what people have expressed interest in? Check out our [http://www.k-lug.org/index.php?title=Meetings&action=submit#Requested_topics_list requested topics] page.

K-LUG - Rochester, MN Area Linux Users Group

Note: To request a wiki account, please join the mailing list and post a message.

We can use presentations for upcoming meetings, please see a list of ideas if you're willing but lacking a topic.

LUG News

We generally meet monthly for technical presentations (2nd Thursday of the month, 6 pm, RCTC), and monthly for socializing (varies). We no longer meet monthly for lunches, if you are interested in reviving this tradition please contact an officer.

Did you used to be on our email list and suddenly haven't gotten email for months? We had a glitch and it caused many people to get unsubscribed; unfortunately Tina doesn't have a way of knowing who all we lost. Please use "Linux mailing list" on the left to get yourself re-added, sorry!
