Dee and Erik are hosting (thank you thank you thank you)!  They'll provide milk and water to drink, and raw veggies.  Everyone bring small (cash) bills to buy group pizza, and everyone should also bring some sort of food/beverage contribution.  Also, bring your favorite board or card games.

=== Technical Meeting: January 11th, 2018 ===

Discuss job hunting, from local options, to telecommute jobs, current interviewing strategies, networking, build your own job, build your own company. No specific speaker, we'll go around the room and let people talk about what's worked for them and what hasn't.
=== Technical Meeting: Thursday July 12th ===

Kyle Gilbertson (IBM LEGO Education Outreach core team member and a prolific volunteer for other efforts as well) has agreed to be a speaker at an upcoming K-LUG meeting. As part of Kyle's volunteering both for ILEO and for other LEGO related STEM outreach he has had the occasion to want to produce instructions for constructing a LEGO model. This is actually difficult to do and have it look like you would expect LEGO instructions to look. Kyle was able to chain several different open source tools together to produce a quality set of instructions. He has volunteered to share the lessons he learned during this process with us.

Also, K-LUG officer elections, and PCIG officer nominations.

We need some meeting topics (& speakers) for 2017. We'd like to know what you want to see and hear about. Please email Tina with suggestions for topics. Should we run some previous sessions again (maybe something you really wanted to see but missed out on)? What type of topics are good, what type are bad?  Also see this page for a list of suggested topics http://www.k-lug.org/Meetings

K-LUG - Rochester, MN Area Linux Users Group

Note: To request a wiki account, please join the mailing list and post a message.

We can use presentations for upcoming meetings, please see a list of ideas if you're willing but lacking a topic.

LUG News

We generally meet monthly for technical presentations (2nd Thursday of the month, 6 pm, RCTC), and monthly for socializing (varies). We no longer meet monthly for lunches, if you are interested in reviving this tradition please contact an officer.

Did you used to be on our email list and suddenly haven't gotten email for months? We had a glitch and it caused many people to get unsubscribed; unfortunately Tina doesn't have a way of knowing who all we lost. Please use "Linux mailing list" on the left to get yourself re-added, sorry!
