Social: July

We will be trying to nail down a date to visit Star Wars at the science museum Current proposal is a Friday afternoon, possibly July 11th or 18th. Other proposals were for a full day on a Friday (departing Rochester ~8:30 am), to make the most of a road trip. Please contribute to the discussion on the email list.

More details:

Day trip to the Cities for the Science Museum's Star Wars exhibit. Available June 13-August 24. Tickets are anticipated to need to be purchased in advance due to high demand, so we'd not only need to agree on a day, we'll have to try to get a weekend far enough in advance that we can all get entry tickets for approximately the same time. If we get 15 or more people to commit and turn over money in advance, we can make group reservations - at least one month notice would be required for this as well.

While we're in the Cities for a day, we could also plan to hit up things like GameWorks (large video game arcade / bowling/ restaurant), the IMAX at the zoo, and/or woods paintball at Pro Paintball. Other ideas to make a full day of it are welcome.

You've seen the Wacom drivers everytime you boot or install Linux come see what that device is about in person. Jon Tollefson will demonstrate the entry level drawing tablet from http://Wacom.com/bamboo called Bamboo (running on Linux even).

Express yourself more clearly when preparing slide presentations, sketching out new ideas and editing documents. Bamboo gives you intuitive pen-point precision when working with Mac, PC or Linux. You can sign your name, jot handwritten notes, and even handwrite email.
