Disc golf! This time we're going to Byron.  The [https://udisc.com/courses/byron-links-dgc-421X course] is just south of the Byron west stoplight.  We waited until fall to let the wild parsnip flower heads (reported location of the 2nd half of the course) quit shedding pollen everywhere; but you still don't want to touch the plant.  If the course turns out to still be too unenjoyable, we'll shift a few blocks NW to [https://udisc.com/courses/klingvall-park-kXgO Kingvall Park], and try their disc golf course instead.

<strike>Mike Fallenstein has arranged with BestBuy for a BestBuy rep (Luke Mattheisen) to come talk to us.  He will talk and demo mobile phones, including probably the iPhone 5 , the new Windows 8 phone, and the new Blackberry.</strike>

I'm sorry to announce we've had a LAST MINUTE change in agenda for tonight's K-LUG meeting.  Our BestBuy mobile phones rep is not available, nor was he able to get a replacement from among his colleagues.  We didn't have any other speakers with finished presentations waiting in the wings, so we're going to go with a hodge-podge.
=== Litter Bit Better outside social, Monday October 5th ===
6:00 - 7:30 pm

We'll have socials brainstorming, volunteer requests, discussion of options for the PCIG website, brainstorming on hacker/Maker space, updates on Shapeways and other 3D printing, and whatever else you want as discussion topics.  If we're feeling like we need a more technical topic or the other "stuff" has wrapped up quickly, we can round-robin a discussion of our favorite phone/tablet appsYes, there will still be treats.
Fall opportunity to take care of our community by picking up trash and getting some geocaching credit while we're at itBring your own gloves, but no water edge to deal with this time.

Hopefully we can get the mobile phones speaker rescheduled to sometime early next year.

Well, not really a crisis, but we do need some meeting topics (& speakers) for 2012. We'd like to know what you want to see and hear about. Please email Tina or Tim with suggestions for topics.
