We generally meet monthly for technical presentations (2nd Thursday of the month, 6 pm, virtual), and monthly for socializing (varies).  We no longer meet monthly for lunches, if you are interested in reviving this tradition please [http://k-lug.org/About contact an officer].
Recently several [http://k-lug.org K-Lug] and [http://www.pcig.info PCIG] members entered a Maker Contest called Red Bull Creation 2013. We were given an Arduino Shield (called the TurBULL Encabulator and 5 Meters of  RGB LED light strips and 1 Meter of addressable RGB LED light strips. We bought 4 more addressable light strips and went to work...creating an invention of Peter Shabinos ...a touch sensitive Rock Climbing Wall called the WALL-O-TRON. This park has a nice playground for the littles, picnic tables, and room to fly kites, as well as usually being unpopulated.  The lack of trees and being on top of a hill mean it's pretty bug free (not that we should hopefully have to worry about that in April) even when there's not enough breeze to fly the kites.


Please bring your family and friends who might want to hang out.  Bring your own kites.  If you don't want to sit at the picnic tables or on the playground equipment, bring your own folding chair.  And bring your own beverage.  Since it's April, we're skipping the traditional ice cream.

As of 5/13, there were still no disc golf holes out at RCTC, and I'm not thrilled about bringing toddlers to East Park for several reasons.  So we're going to go to Stewartville, and play disc golf at [http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Bear+Cave+Park,+Stewartville,+MN&hl=en&sll=46.44186,-93.36129&sspn=7.359657,13.688965&oq=bear+cave+park&hq=Bear+Cave+Park,+Stewartville,+MN&t=m&z=16 Bear Cave Park].  We typically have a few spare discs to share among those attending, but if you plan on attending and need to borrow it's best if you can give us a heads up.  Otherwise you can throw your own non-golf disc, a ball, or a shoe.

Outdoor Social: Saturday April 25

In celebration of National Kite Month, bring your kites and come join us as we try to fly them.

Saturday April 25th

Location: That park by Steve Fox's house, officially known as Pine Ridge Estates Park, on Redwood Lane SW.

This park has a nice playground for the littles, picnic tables, and room to fly kites, as well as usually being unpopulated.
