=== "Technical Meeting": Friday December 10th, 6:30 pm ===
Due to lack of input as well as former hosting sites such as p0wned having gone out of business, Tina is hosting a gaming night at her house.  Email her if you need address and/or directions.  Start time is 6:30 pm.  Note that this is NOT our usual second Thursday, we pushed it back one night so people don't have to deal with getting to work in the morning.

We play whatever you bring.  Please consider bringing a folding table and chairs, board games, card games, video games, video game system accessories, and/or snacks and beverages.  RSVP's of the types of stuff you're bringing would be appreciated so we don't have overstocks of some items such as four people hauling their folding table and chairs, or everyone bringing chips.

Park and walk in a neighborhood in NE Rochester.
The featured speakers this month are José de Leon of Winona State University and Bonnie Gabrick, a Winona State University student in Management Information Systems. They will talk about iPhone web development with the rapid web-development framework Ruby on Rails. Bonnie and José worked on a database-backed site in Rails, describing the technology inventory in each classroom at Winona State, and developed a mobile version of the website that exists alongside the default site. Like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, two cool technologies that go great together!

Park near [https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3WQ84 1 - Odin] on Whiting Lane NE's cul de sac.  We'll walk from there to a couple of other geocaches ([https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC57FGC 2], [https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4RPZ2 3]), then back to #1, and then decide if we're walking or driving to [https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC8M3FP 4].

=== Social:  Thursday April 22nd ===
We'll be participating in Rochester's A Litter Bit Better campaign by helping to clean up [http://www.k-lug.org/images/8/8d/LitterBitBetter_2010_AdoptionArea.pdf section 346] of [http://www.rneighbors.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/SE-Final.pdf Bear Creek Park].  6:30 pm start, meet at the south end of the McQuillin Field parking lot, more details can be found [http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC25WX0 here].  Bring your own gloves, and anyone interested in geocaching the park can do both at the same time (plan is to get a few FTF options out of there to encourage the geocachers).  Since we're participating in [http://www.rneighbors.org/?p=2688 LBB], the City provides the empty trash bags, picks up the full bags, and covers the disposal costs.

=== Technical Meeting:  Thursday April 8th ===
Eldon Nelson and Jon Gullixson will speak on online storage, and securing your online storage.<br>

Back to our usual Cascade Lake Park.
11:30 am, at the Apache Mall food court near B&N.

Bags provided.  You bring your own gloves, grabbers, and sense of civic duty.  There is shoreline.

=== Technical Meeting:  Thursday March 11th ===
As usual we are teaming up with the [https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCAMJX2 geocachers] to avoid being overwhelmed by garbage.
The usual time and close to the usual place - 6 pm in RCTC's Heintz Center near HA107 (room under construction).  Maps and directions are on our [http://www.k-lug.org/Meetings Meetings] page.  Jose de Leon will present on "Winona360 and Drupal".

Winona360 (edutech.tlt.winona.edu/winona360) is an online journalism site that was built for the Mass Communications Department of Winona State University. The site was built using the open-source content management system Drupal, and the talk will be more focused upon some working with some of the advanced Drupal features, and what was done with them to make the site work.

Why use 3D for Meetings?
6 pm

Meetings are about people getting together to do things - with 3D meetings you see all the others as avatars throughout the meeting.
Anything else you want to see on the agenda? Let us know.

Social interactions are more natural with avatars. The expressiveness of avatars help co-workers communicate in a natural and personal way that helps them get to know each other - leading to more trust and better collaboration.

Park and walk in a neighborhood in NE Rochester.

Park near 1 - Odin on Whiting Lane NE's cul de sac. We'll walk from there to a couple of other geocaches (2, 3), then back to #1, and then decide if we're walking or driving to 4.

Back to our usual Cascade Lake Park.

Bags provided. You bring your own gloves, grabbers, and sense of civic duty. There is shoreline.

As usual we are teaming up with the geocachers to avoid being overwhelmed by garbage.

Geocaching! The March equinox is an excuse to find 3 geocaches during the week of the equinox. If you've never geocached before, this is a great time to join us. Wear your hiking shoes, long sturdy pants, and otherwise dress for the weather.

We will chase 3 multi-caches that start to the east and north of St Marys Hospital https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6G6R5 https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5XDH0 https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5XEQV

If we have any DNF's, first choice replacement will be: https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC56K4K

I skimmed through the logs, and none of our regulars seem to have found these, so hopefully everyone will qualify for the achievement.

Parking: There is a limited quantity of 2 hour parking in St. Marys Park proper. However, the neighborhood parking permit restriction opens back up starting at 5:30, so by starting at 6 pm you should be able to park on the street (and not be competing with employees for spots) for the duration of our explorations.
